Two months ago, i had the chance to be a part of an gig in sisters that featured red molly, a new york based trio that was being created for a sisters folk festival winter concert series show.We, aside from several sisters americana project students, played in the lobby until the doors opened.It has one issue, however i was in no way sure what to play.I only got one song you select, and i knew that i had to use it intelligently.

Upon pulling into the rear of sisters high school, where i went to help in the show, i had another sudden moment of clarity i had to relax and play new slang.The minute changed my entire outlook on my hometown, on my young people, and on my well being.There was no way that i couldn know the epiphany that i had had, and paying tribute to this overwhelming group was the best i could do to thank them.
In may of 2009 great loss struck.
James mercer had sacked jesse and marty from the band.When i heard the news i had flash backs of being at their concerts and watching jesse play his sparkly blue drum set like a magician and marty work the laptop keyboard like a wizard while blowing bubbles into the crowd.And from the creepily touching dave corduroys when he stuck his leg out into the crowd and went to jam on his bass.
Sure, i had felt the happy times were over.This rock band i grew to love, and their poppy lyrics and fun mentality, was now no longer the same.It became as if james had given Where Do You Get Pandora Bracelets me life, however, accomplished in and pulled my heart out and said, ok, i started to have production ideas that i wanted to do that basically required some other individuals.Dang.
Annoyed and broken hearted, i listened to their albums often trying to think nothing was changing.Then i heard jesse was opening a taco cart in portland called nuevo taco.I went down and check it out, hoping to remember with jesse, mention the good times.
When i arrived jesse and marty are there slinging tacos.We talked long and then they offered me a fish taco.
I took a bite and rather broke my tooth on something metal.I spit it out and it was before a ring!Immediately i heard someone playing guitar behind me, so i directed around low and behold!It was before james, down on one knee music and humming, quotients, you must be using potions how else could you tie my go to the sky?You will too marry me?
As you can imagine!I yelled all star struck and ran up to kiss him, but my my dear, it was like finding that the lipless.I was also still angry at him for splitting up the band along with my heart so i gave him back the taco covered ring and said, hypersensitive to love.A single tear came from his eye and he to be able to walk away, and i shouted still listen to your songs though, don be overly concerned!
(But honestly, i hold no grudge to bar james, however the newer albums aren quite the same.I it's still forever changed by this band.Exactly what i hear a shins song i revert back to somewhere special, not sure where i go but it is actually grounding.Many heartbreak or bad day, the shins have been in the room cheering me up.Every sunny spring day or bleak winter morning, there they are playing the same songs until you get it.The thing that i see as relevant is that even though i listened to their songs hundreds of times i am still able to find new meaning and understanding in them.So shins be praised for bringing a new meaning to the thought of music, and may the ultra-Modern shins keep it coming. )
